Split Test: Changing color of image link text
In this Split Test we were working with a site that sells vacuum cleaners and sewing machines. Towards the top of the site there was a row of 4 product images with a link describing the product under the image.
The link was large and in a shade of blue.
We changed the link to a shade of red.
This simple change led to a 15.4% increase in conversions. The red links popped out a little more because of their greater contrast on the page. The blue links faded into the site design and while looking like a more consistent part of the page - they were not clicked on as often.
How would YOU feel if you could increase your conversion ratio by 15% while only making very minor changes?
